The Befana

What we nowadays call the Befana is an image coming from immemorial layers of cultures and symbols. On the one side was the Christian tradition of the Epiphany, the first "revelation" of Christ as man and God to the Magi who came with gifts for the Messiah. On the other side were the many folk and pagan traditions connected to the New Year, and to the twelve days following the winter solstice which in the centuries came to be superimposed on the Christian Christmas cycle.

1.Read the story from the beginning right to the end. Underline the words that you don't know.

La hitoria trata de una historia de una familia el padre trabajaba en una oficina y el hijo en una fabrica . La familia que vivia lejos de la ciudad  por que no tenias suficiente dinero para conprar una casa cerca de la ciudad por que costaba e400 entonces un amigo fue un dia a cenar a su casa y tenia un c objeto que si tu pedias un algo te lo concedia entonces el padre pidió los e400  entonces el dia siguiente el padre volvio de trabajar y el hijo no volvi adespues vino un hombre que decia que su hijo habia muerto en la fabrica y que tenia e400 euros.
